It is hard to believe, but we have a one month old baby! Everyone always talks about how fast these first few months fly by and so I am trying really hard to enjoy every moment with this sweet boy. He makes it easy!
This past month has been hard…but, every single blowout has been worth it!
The hardest part of the last four weeks has honestly been just getting my emotions and hormones normalized after a pretty traumatic delivery.
The first couple of weeks were hard for me emotionally, but now that I am feeling like myself again, I can look back at those hard days and see how much grace Wilson and my family showed me.
I would cry over everything. One day I cried over not having enough pictures of me and Carson, because our week-long hospital stay was full of stress.
Overall, the first month was wonderful…even though it went by way too fast! Here are some of my favorite memories:
-Having Nancy, my mother-in-law, help us during Carson’s first week at home! She taught me so much!
-Taking Carson to Courtney Malone’s Photography studio for his newborn portraits with my mother-in-law, Nancy. We had a wonderful time with Courtney! And, Carson was wonderful for his session.
-Having my family come up from Columbia, South Carolina many times during Carson’s first month. They also let me cry when I have my meltdown moments.
-Having Cindy McGrath do my hair and makeup for Carson’s lifestyle newborn session with Courtney Malone. This mamma felt SO beautiful!
-Introducing Carson to so many people who we love! We had friends stop by the house to bring us dinner, and to meet Carson for the first time.
-Reading to Carson in his beautiful nursery. After growing up in a household full of books, my favorite gifts have been all of the books that I have received for Carson.
-Loving the way Carson smells…pre dirty diapers.
-Wilson and I going on our first date night, since Carson was born. We went to Jianna’s in downtown Greenville, where we went for our Fourth Anniversary dinner.
-Seeing Wilson as a dad. I hope I never forget how special, and stressful, this first month has been for us. We have had to become a team in a whole new way!
