I am excited to share with you Courtnie’s bridal portraits at 701 Whaley. 701 Whaley is a wedding venue in Downtown Columbia, South Carolina. Courtnie married her sweetheart, Tim, today at this gorgeous venue; and, a couple of weeks ago, Courtnie, her friend, and I got together at 701 Whaley to photograph her as a bride for the first time.

Some brides choose to have bridal portraits taken, and some brides choose not to. It is all about what kind of bride you want to be! It is a bit of a Southern tradition for brides to have their bridal portraits taken prior to their wedding day to ensure they can have a portrait printed and framed to display at their reception. Often, brides gift the bridal portrait to her parents after the wedding to display in their home.
