At the beginning of the wedding planning process, choosing your wedding party is a big deal for all brides and grooms. Not only will these honorary attendants help the bride and groom get ready for the biggest day of their lives, but, they will help set the tone for the day, also.
Therefore, in order to enjoy your special day with your bridal party, think about the following when choosing them.
1) Think Twice Before You Ask
Once you have asked someone to be in your wedding party, you cannot go back. Yes, some people should be included, like sisters and brothers; but, after that, pick your nearest and dearest friends that are trustworthy and have a great attitude.
2) How Many?
The bridal party should be somewhat proportional to the amount of guests at the wedding; therefore, do not have a bridal party of twenty, when only seventy guests will be at the big day. After that, it is up to you.
Also, side note, do not worry about even numbers. Yes, it is nice; but, do not add someone just to make it even. Your photographs will still look amazing!
3) Consider Your Expectations
Are you the type of bride that will need a sounding board for every decision you make? Or, are you the more laid back, go with the flow type? In all honesty, this matters when choosing a bridal party.
For example, if you expect your attendants to devote a large amount of time (dress shopping, showers, meetings, etc.) and money to your wedding, do not pick a friend that is swamped with work or just lost her job.
4) Kids or No Kids?
If you are not close to any particular children, do not feel the need to have them in your wedding party. There is no pressure to have a flower girl and/or ring bearer.
