You have been chosen to be a part of your friend’s wedding day…now what? All your inspiration is coming from the movie, Bridesmaids, but, after that, you have no clue where to begin and how to serve your friend well.
Each supporting role in a bride’s wedding party makes a big difference, including making sure the ceremony and reception go on without a hitch. On today’s #weddingwednesday, I am going to let you in on the duties and responsibilities that come with each role.
1) Maid Of Honor
The maid of honor will do a lot of the heavy lifting, in regards to the wedding planning process; therefore, this role is normally reserved for the bride’s sister or close friend. Their duties often include being there to give extra support to the bride, and, normally, hosting and planning a wedding shower or bachelorette party. During the wedding, the maid of honor will hold the bride’s bouquet during the ceremony, and, serve as a witness during the signing of the marriage certificate. If her time allows, she will also help with dress shopping, welcome bags, and any other wedding duties.
2) Bridesmaids
Mainly, the bridesmaids are there to boost excitement for the bride’s wedding day; while, they might step in to help the maid of honor plan showers and parties, their primary role is to make sure the bride has fun.
3) Flower Girl
The flower girl is usually an adorable little lady the proceeds down the aisle right before the bride, scattering petals along the pathway. In order to make the flower girl more comfortable around the bigger ladies, she usually attends a bridal shower or luncheon.
