My favorite blog post ever is finally up! Santorini friends! This is the place where Wilson and I indulged during our trip to Greece, because, we stayed at the coolest AirBnb ever! It was a beautiful studio apartment inside a cave that boasted a beautiful hot tub with an even better sunset view of the Aegean Sea. Also, the service at Executive Plan Suites was amazing-with a basket of bread brought to your hot tub each morning, as you watched the sunrise in Santorini.
Given the cost of the apartment, we tried to spend as much time as we could there, just taking in the beautiful view. The apartment is in Thira, the capital of Santorini, and, after hours there, we ventured to the sunny town of Oia. Oia is known for its amazing sunset views!
Our Santorini, Greece Must-Dos:
-Take a tour of the island. When visiting somewhere for a short time, Wilson and I love to take guided tours, because it is a great way to see a whole place, while learning a lot. There is so much more to Santorini than just beautiful views-such as archeological sites and wineries.
-Do a wine tasting at Santo Wines, the main winery in Santorini. The Vinsanto is Santorini’s most famous wine-a sweet white wine made from sun dried grapes. This classic dessert wine literally tastes like syrup!
-Eat a lovely dinner at Kokkalo. We went to this restaurant all three nights in Santorini-by the end, they were practically family. Plus, they give a free adult beverage at the beginning of the meal;)
-Do some shopping at some local boutiques in Oia. There are a ton of local jewelry shops that sell unique pieces.
-Get an anniversary session done from Kimonas Photography. I was not sure if we were going to splurge on an anniversary session, but, I am so glad we did! It was a great way to see Oia, also!
-Watch the sunset from the famous Sunset Serenade point in Oia-one of the top ten sunsets in the world.
-Grab some homemade Greek pasta in Oia at a restaurant called Roka.
Wrapping Up Santorini:
This trip was one of the most magical vacations we have ever been on as a couple (and, in our lives)! In sum, Santorini is unbelievibily romantic and quite luxurious.
