This Thanksgiving, Wilson and I traveled to Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. This was my twenty-fifth time going to Disney (yes, my family is a little obsessed). I am not normally a theme park person, because I do not like heights; but, I love Disney because the rides are smaller, the people are fun to watch, and everything there is just more magical. Yes, I am still that person that will stand in line to see my favorite Disney character.
Our Disney Highlights:
-Animal Kingdom Lodge is definitely the best Disney resort I have ever stayed in, because the exotic animals from Animal Kingdom’s safari literally come right up to your balcony. One feels like they are having a safari adventure right from their luxury hotel room. Wilson and I saw over thirty species of African wildlife on the resort property-including giraffes and flamingos (my favorites).
-Wilson and I went to the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, where we enjoyed an enchanting luau at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Not only is there a tropical feast that is wonderful; but, the hula and fire dancing are amazing to watch.
-Many of you probably have heard about the new ride at Animal Kingdom: Pandora. Just like the Avatars did in the movie, the rider flies on the back of a mountain banshee. Wilson and I saw so many great reviews about the ride before we went to Disney; therefore, we were so excited to finally be there and ride it! We got there right when Animal Kingdom opened; but, still had to wait over two hours (it was so worth it)! However, that beats the six hour wait people had right when the ride first opened this past summer…
