Every year, my family takes an extended vacation to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. The past couple of years, it has been harder and harder to coordinate everyone’s schedules; but, this year everyone could go, except Wilson. I love Hilton Head Island because unlike many other beaches, it is not built up; but, yet, has so much to do. During the week, since I was recovering from my surgery, I could not do much in the water; however, I still managed to go shopping, kayaking, biking, and sightseeing. 

My favorite part of the vacation, besides all the amazing food, was going to Savannah, Georgia for the first time. Savannah is only a short ride from Hilton Head Island. We ate at Paula Deen’s restaurant, which was a real treat with some amazing cornbread; then, we went to the cute downtown shops overlooking the waterway. Oh, how I would love to photograph a wedding and engagement session in Savannah! It definitely has some amazing Southern charm!
